Article Processing Charge (APC)

Jurnal Ilmu Komputer dan Teknologi Informasi

Jurnal Ilmu Komputer dan Teknologi Informasi (JIKTI) operates an author-pays Gold Open Access publishing model. Article Processing Charges (APC) apply exclusively to manuscripts that have been formally accepted for publication following rigorous double-blind peer review. There are strictly no submission charges or initial intake fees.

The APC directly funds editorial oversight, independent peer-review administration, professional copyediting, XML/PDF typography typesetting, permanent Crossref DOI allocation, and long-term open-access hosting without subscription paywalls.

Fast-Track Review Policy & Ethical Safeguards

To serve authors facing fixed academic milestones (such as graduation deadlines, research grant closures, or academic promotions), JIKTI provides an optional Fast-Track Review Track. In strict compliance with COPE (Committee on Publication Ethics) guidelines, this service adheres to the following principles:

  • Acceleration of Service, Not Acceptance: The fast-track premium pays strictly for accelerated administrative handling, dedicated priority reviewer engagement, and rapid typesetting queues. It does not guarantee positive peer-review outcomes or manuscript acceptance.
  • Equal Academic Rigor: Fast-track submissions undergo the exact same double-blind peer-review standards, plagiarism screening thresholds, and technical assessments as regular track submissions.
  • Editorial Firewall: Reviewers assess manuscripts without knowledge of whether standard or fast-track handling has been requested, safeguarding impartial scientific evaluation.
  • Fee Timing: Fast-track fees are invoiced solely when a paper completes peer review and achieves formal editorial acceptance. Unaccepted or rejected manuscripts incur zero charges.
What the APC Covers
  • Automated manuscript screening, intake triage, and similarity checking via Turnitin, iThenticate, and Copyleaks.
  • Editorial coordination and management of independent double-blind peer review.
  • Professional copyediting, citation formatting, and XML/PDF layout typography proofs.
  • Official Digital Object Identifier (DOI) minting and metadata registration with Crossref.
  • Permanent digital archiving, server maintenance, and immediate worldwide open-access dissemination under the Creative Commons Attribution 4.0 International (CC BY 4.0) license.
Payment Workflow & LoA Issuance

Editorial adjudication is strictly separated from financial transactions in accordance with COPE principles:

  1. Academic Acceptance: Following revisions and positive reviewer recommendations, the Editor-in-Chief issues an official editorial decision and a formal Letter of Acceptance (LoA) based purely on scientific merit.
  2. Invoice Delivery: The corresponding author receives the official publication invoice via the OJS submission dashboard and official journal email specifying the selected track.
  3. Payment Settlement: Payment is completed via official institutional bank transfer within 10 business days of invoice receipt.
  4. Production & Proofing: Upon proof of transfer verification, the manuscript proceeds immediately to galley layout formatting, Crossref DOI allocation, and publication scheduling.
Refund and Cancellation Policy

Because production commitments (copyediting, layout typesetting, and Crossref DOI registration) begin immediately upon academic acceptance, processed publication fees are strictly non-refundable, including instances of unilateral author withdrawal post-acceptance. Refunds are issued exclusively under rare circumstances directly attributable to publisher error (such as accidental duplicate billing transactions).

Fee Waiver Policy

Jurnal Ilmu Komputer dan Teknologi Informasi (JIKTI) is committed to ensuring that financial barriers do not impede scientific dissemination. Authors from low-income countries (World Bank classification) or domestic scholars experiencing demonstrable financial hardship may apply for a partial or full APC waiver on the standard track.

Waiver requests must be submitted during initial manuscript submission via the Editorial Office Contact, accompanied by an institutional justification letter. Editorial decisions are strictly firewalled from waiver assessments; peer reviewers and editors have no access to authors' fee or waiver status during the evaluation process.

Zero Submission & Review Costs: The journal never charges fees for article intake, desk screening, or peer review. Submissions that are declined or withdrawn during peer review incur no financial charge whatsoever.
Editorial Independence: Choosing the fast-track option or requesting a fee waiver has zero influence on the peer-review outcome. Acceptance is determined entirely by methodological rigor, reviewer recommendations, and editorial board consensus.
